Spotted this beautiful Painted Stork family at Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary, and it’s truly a sight to admire! These majestic birds, known for their striking pink-tipped wings and graceful presence, are currently in their breeding season, which usually lasts from October to March in India.

During this time, males perform elegant courtship displays, and once paired, they build large nests in trees near wetlands. The female lays 3-5 eggs, and both parents take turns incubating them for about a month. The little ones hatch helpless and hungry, relying entirely on their parents for food. Over the next two months, they grow stronger, learning to flap their wings before taking their first flight.
Breeding season is a crucial time for these birds, and it’s heartwarming to see them thrive. But with increasing habitat loss and pollution, their nesting sites are under threat. Let’s appreciate and protect these incredible creatures so that future generations can witness such breathtaking moments in the wild.
